Joint Commission Accreditation
Lahey Clinic is fully accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC), a leader in
setting quality and safety standards for hospitals and other health care
facilities. Lahey's medical centers in Burlington and Peabody underwent an
extensive, unannounced survey in November 2008. Overall, Lahey received only one
"requirement for improvement," or RFI, in the more than 250 standards that were
applied in the review.
Lahey Listed Among Nation's Top Cardiovascular Hospitals
Lahey Clinic was named by Thomson Reuters as one of the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals for 2012. This is the 9th time, in the past 13 years, that Lahey Clinic’s Landsman Heart & Vascular Center has been honored as one of the nation's best providers of cardiovascular service.
Magnet Status
In August 2009, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) honored Lahey
Clinic with Magnet® recognition for excellence in nursing care. Lahey is one of
only about 5 percent of hospitals worldwide to have achieved Magnet
status.
NICHE Designation
Lahey Clinic is committed to meeting the unique needs of older adults and their loved ones. We provide evidence-based, age-sensitive nursing care for our older patients, which leads to the best possible clinical outcomes.Because of this commitment to elder care, Lahey received designation as a NICHE institution in January 2010.
Stroke Center Gold Achievement Award
Lahey Clinic is designated as a primary stroke service by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. In 2010, Lahey’s Stroke Service received the American Stroke Association’s Get With the Guidelines—Stroke Gold Performance Achievement Award.
Urology Ranked as Tops by U.S.News & World Report
Lahey Clinic was ranked as one of the top hospitals in the nation for
excellence in urology by U.S.News & World Report in the 2010-11
