• Breast Cancer Psychosocial Support

Lahey's Comprehensive Breast Health Center provides patients and their families with psychosocial support, as needed.

    • Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine: Outpatient services, which include individual treatment and medical therapies, are available for not only cancer patients but also their family members.
    • Social Work: These services include counseling patients and their families, accessing needed community and hospital resources, coordinating transportation, insurance and other practical concerns, as well as facilitating support groups.
    • Reach to Recovery: Lahey Hospital & Medical Center has partnered with the American Cancer Society to offer breast cancer patients assistance from a Reach to Recovery volunteer. Volunteers are specially trained breast cancer survivors who give patients and families an opportunity to express feelings, talk about fears and concerns, and ask questions of someone who knows first-hand about the challenges ahead.
