A ubiquitous group of fungi found in soil, these fungi cause a wide spectrum of diseases ranging from colonization of the paranasal sinuses to allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, pulmonary aspergilloma and invasive aspergillosis. The latter commonly occurs only in immunosuppressed hosts.
