Pilot Study To Evaluate Optical Frequency Domain Imaging For Diagnosis Of Central Airway Disease
|
The purpose of this study is to compare images obtained with a new imaging device with images obtained from biopsy samples obtained during your scheduled bronchoscopy procedure. The long-term goal of this research is to identify cancer cells at an earlier stage than is currently possible without having to take a biopsy. This device is called an Optical Frequency Domain Imaging (OFDI) system and has been designed by researchers at the MGH Wellman Laboratory of Photomedicine.
