Impact Of Aggressive Versus Standard Drainage Regimen Using A Long Term Indwelling Pleural Catheter On The Incidence Of Auto-Pleurodesis In Patients With Malignant Pleural Effusions (The ASAP Study) The purpose of this research study is to compare the experiences of patients who drain fluid collections or malignant pleural effusions (MPEs) from around their lung(s) in a more aggressive or frequent manner (i.e., everyday) using a PleuRx® catheter and 1-liter collection bottle and those patients who drain this fluid in a standard or less frequent manner (i.e., every other day) using a PleuRx® catheter and a 600cc collection bottle.
