    Utility of Presepsin in Distinguishing Between Sepsis and SIRS (Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) : An Exploratory, Prospective Observational Study in Critically Ill Patients [LCID Study Number: 2013-090] The purpose of this observational study is to evaluate if the level of a blood marker called presepsin can help differentiate sepsis from systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) in hospitalized patients with sepsis or SIRS.
