Attention Allergy Patients

March 14, 2007

Dear Patient:

The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology recommends a 30-minute wait period after receiving allergy injections, as some reactions occur within the 20 to 30 minute timeframe.

For your safety, as of May 1, 2007, the Department of Allergy and Immunology at Lahey Clinic will require a 30-minute wait after allergy injections. We strongly suggest, however, you follow this 30-minute wait period when you receive your next injection.

If you have any questions regarding this new policy, please speak with the injection nurse.

Sincerely,

John A. Saryan, MD
John M. O'Loughlin, MD
Joseph E. Kelleher Jr., MD
David E. Riester, MD
