Peritoneal Dialysis

Peritoneal dialysis is a treatment choice for kidney failure which allows patients to perform dialysis at home. This provides convenience and mobility, minimizing trips to the dialysis unit.

After a training program taught by a RN, supplies are sent home with the patient, who is then able to stay at home and self-administer their treatments.

Baxter Pharmaceutical provides dialysis supplies for Lahey Clinic. Patients admitted to the hospital will also use Baxter supplies. However, if you are one of the many referrals to the Lahey Clinic, adapters are available for the Fresenius systems. If you are spending a long day at Lahey, we can provide a space for your dialysis exchange. Please call the dialysis unit in advance to plan for your needs.
