Urogynecologists

A urogynecologist is a gynecologist who specializes in the treatment of women with pelvic floor dysfunction. These doctors have additional training and expertise in the evaluation and treatment of conditions that affect the female pelvic organs, and the muscles and connective tissue that support the organs.

Women should consult a urogynecologist if they have problems regarding uterine prolapse, urinary incontinence, pelvic pain or the need for special expertise in vaginal surgery.

Lahey's Department of Gynecology has the expertise of a urogynecologist:

Sameena J. Ahmed, MD

Raffaele Bruno, MD
