Adjusting to a Hearing Aid

Adjusting to a hearing aid is a gradual process; it involves learning to listen in a variety of environments and becoming accustomed to hearing different sounds. At first your own voice may appear to be loud; however, over time you will adjust to this. If you hear a whistling sound (feedback), this may be due to ear wax in the canal or a loose-fitting ear mold. Your audiologist can help you isolate the source of the problem and make adjustments.
