The Department of Hematology and Oncology is a combined program offering advanced care for all patients with blood disorders and cancer. We work closely with associated subspecialists throughout the hospital to coordinate and develop state-of-the-art comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic plans of care, individualized to meet the needs of each patient. Our physicians, nurses and nurse practitioners strive to provide a unique brand of compassionate care within an academic medical center, with the goal of improving the overall experience of the patient with a hematologic or malignant disease.
Multidisciplinary programs in such tumor types as breast, lung, colorectal, liver, pancreas, urologic and gynecologic cancers ensure the best ideas and the most advanced treatment for each of our patients. We offer autologous stem cell transplantation for the treatment of hematologic malignancies, and an aggressive interventional oncology approach for localized treatment of many solid tumors.
Our active and growing research focus enables us to offer a wide range of investigational therapies, and we participate in national and international clinical study organizations such as the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group.
A new integrative medicine initiative will be available for patients interested in complementary approaches along with standard care.
