Lahey Clinic has joined with the American Red Cross Blood Services - New England Region to promote the need for blood and platelet donors. More than 15,000 units of blood, platelets, and other blood components are transfused at Lahey each year. Blood products cannot be manufactured; donations from healthy individuals are the only source. Many people who have never donated blood say it is because they have never been asked. Well, consider yourself asked!
