Neurovascular Disorders

Overview

Lahey Clinic offers a wide array of treatment options for patients with neurovascular disorders. Patients with brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), dural fistulas and other vascular disorders are evaluated in a multidisciplinary clinic by neurosurgeons, neurologists and interventional neuroradiologists.

Treatment

Carlos A. David, MD, during a neurosurgeryThe state-of-the-art biplane angiography suite provides outstanding imaging capabilities, including three-dimensional angiographic reconstruction. We are able to treat our patients with cutting-edge microsurgical techniques, endovascular techniques and stereotactic radiosurgery.

Depending on the size and configuration of the aneurysm or AVM, surgery may be the preferred method of treatment. Endovascular treatment, which involves coiling aneurysms or gluing AVMs, is a newer minimally invasive technique that may provide a method for preventing hemorrhage. Radiosurgery may also be used for some smaller AVM lesions.>

Carlos A. David MD heads our neurovascular program. He works in close collaboration with In Sup Choi MD, chair of Lahey's Department of Interventional Neuroradiology.
