Lahey operates five advanced MRI scanners in three locations. The design of this state-of-the-art high-field MRI system provides added comfort to patients because of its larger internal core, reduced acoustic noise and sound system. This system's hardware and software are able to generate superior diagnostic images in much less time when compared to older open magnets. The improved gradient coil design allows marked improvements in image quality.
We have two scanners at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Mass., as well as one high-field scanner and one high-field open scanner at Lahey Clinic Medical Center, North Shore, in Peabody, Mass., next to the Northshore Mall. We are also installing a high-field system at Lahey Medical Center in Lexington, Mass.
