Post-travel Counseling & Treatment

Post-traveling counseling and treatment is available for most illnesses acquired overseas. Anyone returning from travel with persistent symptoms should be evaluated for travel-related disease. Symptoms of travel-related disease may include:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Cough
  • Diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Nausea
  • Skin eruptions (e.g., rash, lesions or discoloration)
  • Vomiting

Treatment at Our Clinic

If you get sick following foreign travel, the Travel and Tropical Medicine Clinic has the most up-to-date treatments for travel-related diseases available to you. Our physicians can provide you with comprehensive treatment and advice on emerging diseases such as severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and dengue fever.

The Travel Clinic has both a pharmacy and full-service parasitology lab available on-site. We can be accessed for consultation of medical problems acquired while still abroad through our e-mail or by phone at 781-744-8164.
