General Surgery Residents Win ‘Top Gun’ Award

For the second time in three years, the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center team of General Surgery residents has won the ‘Top Gun’ laparoscopic skills competition at the Massachusetts Chapter of the American College of Surgeons Annual Meeting in Boston on December 7. Participants from every General Surgery residency programs in the state compete in the event, which involves a timed aggregate of several laparoscopic surgical skills by a three-person team including an intern, junior and senior resident. This year’s winning team was comprised of Victor Kim, MD, post-graduate year (PGY) 1; Andrew Gagnon, MD, PGY3, and Megan Applewhite, MD, PGY5.”
