Burlington, Mass. – December 10, 2010 – Lahey Clinic has joined with Southern New Hampshire’s Gateway Urology and its three practices in Dover, Portsmouth and Rochester. Although the practice name has been changed to the Lahey Clinic Institute of Urology, every other aspect of the clinical operation will remain the same. Gateway’s four popular urologists will remain on site as Lahey Clinic physicians. Moreover, the urologists will continue their affiliation with Portsmouth Regional Hospital and Frisbie Memorial Hospital, so patients can continue to receive care in their local area.
“My colleagues and I are very excited about joining Lahey which has one of the nation’s most renowned urology programs,” said James Betti, MD. “It’s a big win for our patients too. They will have the same doctors and get the same great urologic care right at home where they always have, but now whenever necessary, they will have easy access to cutting edge therapies and clinical trials at nearby Lahey Clinic.”
“Lahey Clinic has a proud tradition as one of the nation’s most preeminent clinical centers for urologic care,” said John Libertino, MD, chair of Lahey Clinic’s Institute of Urology. “We feel fortunate that such esteemed physicians are joining our team. Their clinical expertise will only enhance Lahey’s reputation for providing exceptional quality care.”
