Mission Statement


It is the mission of Lahey Clinic's Department of Pastoral Care to provide spiritual and emotional care to patients, families, friends and staff members. Our interfaith ministry is dedicated to providing appropriate pastoral services and referrals in accordance to a person's religious beliefs or affiliations. We focus on the spiritual and emotional needs of a person, and act as liaisons with local clergy.

Services

  • Help with decision-making regarding: treatment, goals of care, and end of life issues
  • Prayer for people of all faiths
  • Emotional and spiritual support
  • Responding to referrals
  • Daily Mass or Communion Service in the chapel (all are welcome)

  • Marriages
  • Consultations
  • Committees
  • Counseling regarding ethical questions and decision-making
  • Communion for Catholic and Protestant patients and families
  • Sacrament of the Sick for Catholic patients
  • Rituals for specific Holy Days
  • Response to faith-specific requests
  • Mass Cards for loved ones who have passed away
