Nurse Re-Entry Program

About the Candidates

Debralee Quinn, RN, and Claire Eastwood, RN, reviewing materials for the Nurse Re-Entry Program Lahey's Medical-Surgical Nurse Re-Entry Program assists former nurses who have maintained their nursing licenses but who have not practiced nursing or worked in a medical-surgical setting for several years. The program is well recognized by the nursing community. After program completion, many nurses choose to work at Lahey, while some others go on to work for other area hospitals.

About the Curriculum

The program lasts four weeks, with a curriculum that includes a mix of classroom instruction and clinical observation. Training is designed to focus on areas in which nurses tend to need the most re-education, such as new technologies and new medications. The instructors are expert Lahey clinicians, and the sessions are held on-site.
