Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine Fellowship

The Department of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine's three-year fellowship program trains fellows in the most pioneering treatments in areas such as critical care and interventional pulmonology. Successful completion of this program makes a trainee eligible for certification in both Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

With six Pulmonary & Critical Care fellows in training at any one time (two slots per year are open at the PGY-4 level), the department maintains a high faculty-to-trainee ratio. Rotations include time in both the medical intensive care unit (MICU) and surgical intensive care unit (SICU).

In addition to the full-time Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine faculty, fellows also interact with faculty and trainees in Internal Medicine and its subspecialties, Anesthesiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Urology and Orthopaedic Surgery.

Applicants for this position must have completed residency training in Internal Medicine and be eligible for certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine before commencement of the fellowship. This program participates in the National Resident Matching Program.
