Pharmacy Training at Lahey Clinic
The PGY-1 Residency Program builds upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to develop pharmacist practitioners. Residents who successfully complete the program will be skilled in patient care, practice management, leadership, and education.
Introduction to Lahey Clinic
Lahey Clinic has been training pharmacy residents since 2004. Our main campus in Burlington, MA, is a 334-bed academic medical center with a variety of outpatient clinics. More than 150 pharmacy employees provide a range of inpatient and outpatient clinical services every day. Lahey is the largest academic medical center, Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center north of Boston and is a member of the Beth Israel Lahey Health network.
As the primary affiliate of UMass Chan Medical School, Lahey provides the highest standards of service and patient care while offering a challenging and rewarding educational experience. The Lahey Clinic model integrates the critical services of an acute care hospital with an extensive network of ambulatory care clinics to ensure excellent patient care across all transitions of care.
For 2027-2028, Lahey Clinic is offering three positions in our PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency program.

Resident Life
Lahey Clinic’s location in Burlington, Massachusetts offers convenient access to all the area has to offer, with proximity to both nature and city experiences, including the Middlesex Fells, Boston, and the North Shore.
Application Requirements
- Apply through PhORCAS by application deadline
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy
- Official College of Pharmacy transcript (minimum GPA 3.0, if no GPA, class rank is required)
- Letter of intent
- Three letters of reference using the PhORCAS Standard Reference Template Form (at least one reference from direct patient care APPE preceptor)
- Onsite or virtual interview by invitation
- Eligible for Massachusetts Licensure
