Training Programs for Nursing Students

Lahey Clinic offers a wide range of learning opportunities to nurses at various stages of their career and education. Local clinical placements and international opportunities like our Bermuda Student Program provide ample opportunity to deepen your expertise and prepare for careers in patient care.

Bermuda Student Program

Each spring Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) hosts senior nursing students from Bermuda at Lahey. In the spring of 2023, 13 senior nursing students spent two weeks participating in nursing orientation and undertaking assignments with our nursing colleagues in all areas.

Students enjoyed experiences in the operating room, cardiac catheterization lab, emergency department and all medical surgical and critical care areas. They participated in the MedSurg Residency Program, Shared Governance, as well as numerous simulation and clinical skills sessions.

Clinical Practicum Placement Program for Nursing Students

BILH is proud of the part it plays preparing nurses for the future. We provide clinical practicum placements for students at all levels of education. Each year we host upwards of 100 students, many of whom join the team as colleagues at the completion of the placement.

Clinical Group Placements for Nursing Students

BILH’s contribution to the future of nursing continues through our clinical group placements from both associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs from local colleges and universities. Over 800 students from various nursing schools attend clinical at Lahey, the majority of them taught by current Lahey colleagues.
