At Lahey Clinic, the Division of Pain Medicine is a critical part of the Department of Anesthesiology. We collaborate with medical and surgical teams to offer comprehensive pain management care, research better methods to manage pain and educate tomorrow’s clinical leaders.

Care & Services
Our board-certified physicians provide pain management for patients during both surgical and non-surgical procedures. In addition, if you have an acute pain disorder, chronic pain or complex pain, we can help. Care experts at the Interventional Pain Management Center work to fully understand the cause of your pain. This allows us to treat it effectively, which is especially important for people who need long-term pain management care.
Education & Training
Our education and training programs are designed to develop the next generation of pain management specialists. We offer hands-on programs that give participants access to highly skilled and experienced physicians, as well as advanced methods and protocols, to prepare for careers in pain medicine.
We train medical students, residents, fellows, student nurse anesthetists and paramedics. For medical students, we offer elective rotations in anesthesia, perioperative medicine and pain medicine.
Research
Through collaborative efforts, Lahey researchers and physicians work to improve patient outcomes. Research is the path to discovering new protocols for enhanced care and improved quality of life for patients.
