Referring Providers
We welcome physician referrals, giving us the opportunity to provide excellent care for your patients.
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine has established a strong and trusted reputation for providing the highest quality heart care and heart health services that put patients at the center of all we do. In addition to providing exceptional clinical care, we are committed to educating the next generation of cardiology specialists and offer fellowship programs in a number of specialized cardiology fields.
Our cardiovascular specialists engage in leading-edge scientific discovery. This research ensures patients benefit from the latest clinical trials and the most advanced treatment options available. It also ensures future heart and vascular providers are trained in the newest techniques and innovations in patient care.
The Dr. Emanuel and Sheila Landsman Heart and Vascular Center at Lahey combines the expertise of multiple disciplines, including cardiovascular medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, thoracic surgery and vascular surgery. Our cardiovascular specialists provide a full range of advanced heart and vascular services. Lahey Cardiology also offers one of the largest centers of excellence for the evaluation and treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) in the United States.
Our multidisciplinary approach to cardiology care, focused clinics and innovative treatments translate into life-saving benefits for you and your loved ones.
In addition to heart and vascular care, we work closely with specialists throughout Lahey Clinic to treat the whole person.

We offer a two-year fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (CCEP) designed to provide comprehensive subspecialty training in all clinical facets of electrophysiology with two positions offered each year. In addition to structured didactic education, the program offers exposure to a high volume of ablation and cardiac implantable device procedures, and fellows should expect to participate in over 1,000 procedures over the course of two years of training.

The Cardiovascular Fellowship training program at Lahey provides trainees with comprehensive subspecialty training through:
Our faculty builds the knowledge and skills needed to manage adult cardiovascular diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Lahey’s interventional fellowship program trains doctors in all aspects of cardiovascular and peripheral procedures. Our faculty members guide fellows during coronary evaluations and interventions. Spending much of your time in the catheterization lab, you’ll perform procedures, pre-procedure assessments and post-procedure follow-up. Fellows are exposed to peripheral interventional procedures as well as structural heart disease procedures as part of your training.

Our Vascular Medicine Fellowship is a one-year intensive program that provides advanced, multidisciplinary training in the comprehensive care of patients with vascular disease. Fellows develop expertise across arterial, venous and thrombotic disorders within a highly integrated program that emphasizes collaboration among vascular medicine, vascular surgery and interventional specialties. Training is anchored by a high-volume consultative service and a robust pulmonary embolism response program, with additional exposure to advanced vascular imaging and endovenous therapies.
Successful completion of an internal medicine or family medicine residency is required for consideration. In addition, a track record of scholarly contributions, including abstracts and published manuscripts, relating to vascular medicine topics will significantly strengthen an individual's application.
The program’s focus on clinical excellence, teamwork and program development prepares graduates to excel in both academic and advanced clinical practice settings. Upon completion of the fellowship, graduates will qualify for certification in both the American Board of Vascular Medicine (ABVM) and the Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).

We are committed to clinical research to improve our understanding of the most effective treatments for cardiovascular disease. The Landsman Heart and Vascular Center is recognized nationally and internationally as a center of excellence. This recognition is the result of our ongoing commitment to heart disease research.
Our division has dozens of active clinical research studies covering conditions as diverse as prevention of heart attacks, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and innovative devices to treat atrial arrhythmias. These important clinical studies offer our patients access to cutting-edge therapies for nearly all cardiovascular conditions. Our faculty includes multiple grant-funded researchers as well as medical device designers. They hold innovative patents that have led to great improvements in heart and vascular care for families across the country.
Several of our faculty members are leading efforts to better understand specific cardiovascular conditions and therapies. In addition to bedside clinical and translational research, we focus on several other areas of research. These studies evaluate the impact of alternative treatments in cardiovascular disease, atrial fibrillation ablation procedures and much more.
Through these and other collaborative efforts, Lahey researchers and physicians work to improve patient outcomes. Cardiovascular medicine research is the path to discovering new protocols for enhanced care and improved quality of life for patients.
