Neurology Care, Research, and Education
At the Division of Neurology at Lahey Clinic, we care for people with conditions affecting the brain, spine, and nerves. Our goal is simple: to help you feel heard, understood, and supported while providing the best possible care for your neurological health. We bring together experienced doctors, nurses, and specialists who work as a team to guide you every step of the way.
We treat a wide range of neurological conditions, including headaches, stroke, epilepsy, memory concerns, movement disorders, and nerve or muscle problems. We take the time to listen to your symptoms, explain what’s happening in clear terms, and create a care plan that fits your needs and goals. Our team uses modern tools and treatments while always focusing on what matters most — your comfort and quality of life.
As part of an academic medical center, we help train future neurologists and healthcare providers. This means your care team may include doctors in training who are supervised by experienced specialists. Teaching helps us stay up-to-date with the latest knowledge and ensures you benefit from a thoughtful, team-based approach to care.
We are committed to improving care through research. Our team studies neurological conditions to better understand them and to develop new treatments. When appropriate, patients may have the option to participate in clinical studies, giving access to emerging therapies while helping advance medical knowledge for others.

Neurology covers many different conditions, so our care is organized into specialized areas. Each subspecialty focuses on a specific part of the nervous system or type of condition, allowing you to receive expert, personalized care.
Stroke & Cerebrovascular Care
This team treats conditions that affect blood flow to the brain, including stroke and transient ischemic attacks (often called “mini-strokes”). They focus on rapid treatment, prevention, and recovery to reduce long-term effects.
Epilepsy & Seizure Disorders
Specialists in this area care for people with seizures. They help diagnose the cause, adjust medications, and explore advanced treatments when seizures are difficult to control.
Movement Disorders
The movement disorders group treats conditions that affect how the body moves, such as tremor, stiffness, or balance problems. Common conditions include Parkinson’s disease and related disorders.
Memory & Cognitive Disorders
Our memory and cognitive disorders specialists evaluate and care for people with memory loss, confusion, or changes in thinking, including Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. They also support families and caregivers.
Multiple Sclerosis & Neuroimmunology
This team focuses on conditions where the immune system affects the brain and nerves, such as multiple sclerosis (MS). They provide long-term care and help manage symptoms and disease progression.
Neuromuscular Disorders
These experts treat conditions affecting nerves and muscles, which may cause weakness, numbness, or fatigue. Examples include peripheral neuropathy, myasthenia gravis, and muscular dystrophy.
Headache & Pain
The headache subspecialty cares for people with migraines, chronic headaches, and facial pain syndromes. They work with patients to reduce frequency, severity, and triggers.
Sleep Neurology
Sleep specialists diagnose and treat neurological sleep disorders, such as narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, and other conditions that affect sleep quality.
Neurocritical Care
This team provides intensive care for patients with severe or life-threatening neurological conditions, such as brain injury, large strokes, or seizures requiring close monitoring.

Research
Our academic neurology research program is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of neurological disorders through a robust portfolio of both sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials. We collaborate with industry partners, federal agencies and academic investigators to bring innovative therapies and evidence-based approaches to patients.
Our team supports studies across a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke, ALS, Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, cognitive disorders, CIDP, neurocritical care, and neuropsychology, ensuring rigorous study design, regulatory compliance and high-quality data collection. Investigator-led trials are a key focus, enabling our clinicians and researchers to explore novel hypotheses and contribute meaningfully to the field. We welcome inquiries from potential collaborators, sponsors and patients interested in participating in clinical research.
