Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship
About Our Pulmonary Fellowship Program
The Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship offered at Lahey Clinic is a one-year program. This program presents a unique opportunity beyond that of a pulmonary and critical care fellowship to learn a broad skill set in a health care institution that is state-of-the-art in the diagnosis and treatment of complex airway diseases and pleural diseases.
Our program is set apart from others in the country due to a breadth of faculty experience that spans more than forty years of experience in the area of pulmonary medicine. We also take pride in being the first interventional pulmonary fellowship program in the country.

Training in Rigid Bronchoscopy
Lahey pulmonologists are heavily involved in efforts to advance the professional knowledge of rigid bronchoscopy, a procedure during which a stainless steel viewing tube is used to examine the tissues of the airways and remove any tumors.
We train fellows in the technique and also teach yearly courses to doctors from throughout the U.S. and around the world. These classes provide details on a variety of therapies that can be performed through the rigid bronchoscope.
Application Requirements
- Completion of a pulmonary and critical care fellowship.
- Must be eligible for full Massachusetts medical license; applicants with J-1, and H1B visas cannot be considered.
