Lahey Clinic – 41 Mall Road
About Our Hospital in Burlington
Lahey Clinic in Burlington serves 3,000 patients every day through our 335-inpatient hospital beds, our ambulatory care center, 24-hour emergency department and American College of Surgeons-verified Level I trauma center.
24/7 Emergency Department
Our emergency medicine specialists provide 24/7 life-saving care through our Joseph C. Corkery Emergency Center. While we primarily treat adult patients with severe illnesses or injuries, we do offer some pediatric and obstetric emergency care.
As the only Level I trauma center north of Boston, we play a vital role serving the time-sensitive, critical health needs of those in our region. Our designation as a Level I trauma center demonstrates our exceptional readiness, resources and policies regarding advanced trauma care.
Medical and Surgical Specialty Care
With more than 50 medical and surgical specialties and various ancillary services, including on-site pharmacy, laboratory medicine, anesthesiology and radiology, Lahey embraces the unique vision that Frank Lahey, MD, had when he founded a group practice in 1923: that every component of a patient’s health care would be coordinated under one roof.
Lahey specialists continue to share expertise and work closely together to ensure all of a patient’s medical needs are met.
Research and Clinical Trials
Similar to our approach to patient care, Lahey’s research efforts often cross medical disciplines. At any given time, there are roughly 300 scientific studies underway at Lahey. Our research teams stand at the leading edge of new scientific discoveries in medicine, helping us develop safer, more effective treatments for our patients.
We also lead a range of clinical trials. By offering the chance to participate in clinical trials, patients gain unique access to the latest treatment options available.
Teaching Hospital and Academic Physicians
We are a teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine and many of our physicians hold teaching assignments at Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine. This gives those participating in our education programs unique access to some of the world’s leading clinicians and educators, providing a more robust training experience.
