Hearing Services from Expert Providers

After your hearing evaluation, you will be able to schedule a complimentary one-hour consultation with one of our audiologists. During this visit, we will:

  • Explain your hearing test results in clear, simple terms
  • Discuss your communication goals, lifestyle, and listening needs
  • Recommend the most appropriate hearing technology for you
  • Review pricing, insurance considerations, and next steps

We offer a wide range of hearing aids, including the latest discreet and high-performance devices. Our audiologists will help you find the best fit for your hearing loss, preferences, and daily activities.

Types of Hearing Aids

Each hearing aid style offers unique benefits depending on your hearing needs, lifestyle, and preferences:

  • Behind-the-Ear (BTE): Worn behind the ear and connected to a custom earpiece. Today’s models are smaller and more discreet than ever.
  • Open-Fit: A lightweight behind-the-ear style with a thin wire and small dome that sits comfortably in the ear canal.
  • In-the-Ear (ITE), In-the-Canal (ITC), and Completely-in-Canal (CIC): Custom devices that fit partially or completely inside the ear for a more subtle appearance.

Hearing Aid Accessories

Enhance your listening experience with advanced accessories:

  • Bluetooth Connectivity: Stream audio directly from your phone, TV, or other devices to your hearing aids.
  • FM Systems: Improve speech clarity in noisy environments or during one-on-one conversations, whether at home or on the go.

Insurance and Trial Period

Many insurance plans cover hearing evaluations and medical visits, but coverage for hearing aids varies. We recommend checking with your insurance provider prior to your appointment.

We also offer a 30 day trial period for hearing aids. If you’re not satisfied, you may return them for a refund.

Implantable Technology

For individuals who do not benefit from traditional hearing aids, implantable devices may offer a powerful alternative. Unlike hearing aids, which amplify sound, implants bypass or compensate for damaged parts of the ear.

Types of Implantable Hearing Devices

Available implant options:

  • Cochlear Implant: A cochlear implant is a surgically implanted electronic device. It helps restore hearing for those who no longer benefit from hearing aids due to severity of loss. This type of hearing loss usually is caused by damage or degeneration in the inner ear. The implant bypasses the damaged inner ear sensory cells and stimulates the auditory nerve to send sound information to the brain.
  • Bone-anchored hearing implant (BAHA/Osia): Ideal for certain types of hearing loss where traditional hearing aids are not effective. These devices bypass the conduction pathway of the ear, and transmit sound vibrations directly to the inner ear

Innovative Offerings at Lahey

  • Esteem implantable hearing aid: a fully implanted hearing device specifically made to improve the hearing of adults who have moderate-to-severe sensorineural hearing loss.
