When you’re struggling with your mental health, everyday life can feel overwhelming. At Lahey Clinic, you’ll find a team that takes time to listen, understand and help you feel more like yourself again.
We offer psychotherapy as well as psychiatric evaluation and treatment and psychotherapy. No matter where you are in your journey, we’ll work with you to build a plan that supports your well-being.
Conditions We Treat
Our behavioral health team cares for a wide range of concerns, including the following:
Anxiety and panic attacks
Bipolar disorder
Depression
Obsessive-compulsive disorder
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Psychosis
In addition to the above conditions, we provide compassionate, evidence-based psychotherapy to help patients and families navigate the emotional challenges of cancer. We also help people learn evidence-based psychological strategies for managing eating- and weight-related concerns.
Patient-Centered Evaluation and Treatment Planning
Your first visit will begin with a supportive evaluation to understand what you’re experiencing. We talk with you about your symptoms, history and goals, then use screening tools to help guide next steps. Together, we will create a plan that may include therapy, medication or a combination of approaches.
If medication may help, your psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner will explain your options and work closely with you to find what feels right.
Our team offers behavioral health and behavioral medicine services, including therapy, counseling and psychiatric medication.
Individual, Couples & Group Counseling
Therapists provide a supportive space to explore challenges, build coping skills and strengthen communication. You can learn more about individual, couples and group counseling, which includes care for young adults to seniors.
Medication Management
If medication is part of your treatment plan, your psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner will partner with you to monitor your progress, adjust your medication as needed and answer any questions along the way.
Most people receive care in our outpatient setting, we offer psychiatric evaluation, therapy, medication management and integrated behavioral health support through your primary care provider. Many individuals start with outpatient care and adjust their plan over time as their needs change. If you receive support through your primary care provider, they may coordinate with primary care to help you stay connected to the right services.
Your care team may include many different specialists who work together to support your emotional and physical health. Team members may include:
Case managers
Licensed therapists
Neurologists
Pain management specialists
Primary care providers
Psychiatric nurse practitioners
Psychiatrists
Psychologists
Sleep medicine specialists
Social workers
If you already see a primary care provider, your behavioral health team will coordinate your services with your primary care provider or Lahey specialist so your care feels connected and easier to manage.
