What Is Otolaryngology?

Otolaryngology is the medical and surgical specialty focused on disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck. Physicians in this field — otolaryngologists, or ENT specialists — are trained to diagnose and manage a wide range of conditions, offering both medical therapies and surgical interventions.

They frequently collaborate with audiologists, speech language pathologists, and other specialists, including oncologists, radiation oncologists, neurosurgeons, and allergists, to provide coordinated, multidisciplinary care that optimizes patient outcomes.
