Ours began decades ago, when Lahey Clinic and Beverly Hospital independently set out to establish a markedly better way to provide health care: quality care, delivered locally; the best of the best, collaborating to offer excellence in clinical services, always seeing patients as people with concerns, hopes and offerings that define each community. Each organization has stayed true to these beliefs.
Now, Lahey Clinic, Beverly Hospital and what has since grown to become Northeast Health System have come together to build what’s next in health care: Lahey Health. Through this affiliation, the goals remain clear: to offer the highest quality health care, to deliver the best possible patient experience, and to offer great value to the communities we serve. Our combined strengths afford us greater opportunities to build infrastructure, provide services and offer spectacular care that will meet the needs of our patients all through their lives.

Our New Name
For decades, the name Lahey Clinic has represented our multidisciplinary physician group practice, providing coordinated specialty care for patients in one setting. However, over the years, the facilities and resources on our main campus in Burlington, Mass., have grown to include a busy ambulatory center, a level II trauma center and a 317-bed teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine.
To better represent these resources, Lahey Clinic Medical Center has been renamed Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Burlington. Similarly, Lahey Clinic Medical Center, North Shore, is now known as Lahey Medical Center, Peabody, and Lahey Medical Center, Lexington, has been renamed Lahey Outpatient Center, Lexington. Lahey Clinic will remain the name of our employed physician group, preserving the original vision by Dr. Lahey of an integrated multispecialty physician-led organization.
You will begin to see the rollout of our new names over the course of coming months. During this time of transition, you will see some materials in our new name, while other items will remain temporarily in the existing Lahey Clinic name.
