The Department of Neurology possess extensive experience in conducting research and clinical trials and is typically involved with more than 35 different neurological research trials at any given time. Under the direction of the neurology research director, the department has its own full time research staff including study coordinators, a clinical research associate and a clinical research specialist. The research conducted by the Neurology Department offers patients the opportunity to participate in clinical trials. These clinical trials offer a greater breadth of treatment options for a variety of neurological disorders, including new and potentially promising experimental treatments.Neurological research also helps to further our understanding of neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke, and epilepsy, amongst other diseases and disorders.
