EMPROVE (Evaluation of the SVS Valve for EMphysema to ImPROVE Lung Function) Spiration® Valve System Study: A Prospective Randomized, Controlled Multicenter Clinical Study to Evaluate the Safety and Effectiveness of the Spiration® Valve System (SVS) for the Single-Lobe Treatment of Severe Emphysema [LCID Study Number: 2013-030] The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the IBV Valve System for the treatment of severe emphysema. The IBV valve is an investigational device. It is a small, umbrella-shaped, one-way valve that is placed inside the airways of diseased parts of lungs and redirects the air to healthier parts of the lung. Eligible subjects will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio to treatment with either the IBV Valve System or continued optimal medical managment (control arm). Study subjects will be followed over a period of 6 months. Principal Investigator(s):
