Judy Zager, Human Resource Generalist and Volunteer Coordinator at Lahey Medical Center, Peabody, is the latest recipient of the Colleague Service Excellence Award, given to someone who demonstrates a positive attitude toward work responsibilities, colleagues and patients and serves as a role model for others. Here is what her nominators had to say about Judy:
I know Judy as a wonderful, caring volunteer supervisor. She has gone over and above her basic responsibilities. She has always been available. She has made certain that volunteers are updated at informal meetings, always serving her homemade goodies. Our holiday party is quite a tribute to volunteers: homemade goodies, presents for all and lots of good cheer. She is a remarkable person, friend, “boss”. I can’t think of anyone who deserves it more!
- Joan Shechet, Volunteer, Blood Lab
She consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty to get things done for Lahey as an organization and for employees as well. We have a great HR Department, and Judy really makes sure that issues get the attention and focus they need. She does a fabulous job with the externship and volunteer programs, making sure candidates are the right fit for a department. She continuously strives to honor those on the front lines who may get overlooked in day-to-day operations. She is approachable with any issue you may have, and awesome when it comes to growth of employees within the organization. She is truly a jewel within the organization.
