Free event about menopause aims to inform women

Take Charge of the Change

Community members gathered at a free event hosted by Lahey Medical Center, Peabody, on May 17 aimed to answer women’s questions about menopause. A poll of 28 women leading up to the event showed that 93 percent were concerned about weight control, 86 percent were worried about incontinence and 81 percent were worried about making frequent bladder trips.

At the event, gynecologist Dawn Anderson, MD; endocrinologist Dinamarie C. Garcia-Banigan, MD; and urologist Arthur Mourtzinos, MD, discussed approaches for managing symptoms, provided insight on sensitive topics and answered questions.
