Flu season is upon us. We want you and your family to remain healthy. To help prevent the spread of illness, remember the following:
- Get the flu shot.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective and can be found throughout our facilities.
- Try to avoid close contact with people who are exhibiting flu-like symptoms, including a fever of 100oF or higher, cough, sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, fatigue, body aches and chills.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth to prevent germs from spreading.
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you sneeze or cough.
In addition, we are recommending that anyone planning on visiting the hospital who is exhibiting flu-like symptoms either postpone their visit until they are well or wear a mask, which we can provide.
Please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or Flu.gov website for more information.
