• Lung Cancer CT Screening Program

We are currently offering FREE low-dose CT (LDCT) lung screening to individuals who meet the established high-risk criteria. Call 855.CT.CHEST to find out if you qualify. LDCT lung screening is quick and easy and results in a minimal amount of radiation exposure.

    Free of Charge

We have been offering free LDCT lung screening, at absolutely no charge to the patient since 2012.

Of the top four deadliest cancers in the U.S. (lung, prostate, breast and colorectal), lung cancer is the only one not subject to routine screening. Based on the findings of the National Lung Screening Trial (NLST), we have proof that LDCT lung screening can save lives of people at high risk for developing lung cancer. If you qualify for a screening, we encourage you to get screened.

    Qualification Criteria

You may qualify for a free LDCT lung screening at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center if you meet the high-risk criteria in one of the following recommended categories:

    • You are between 55 and 74 years old
    • Are currently a smoker or have quit within the past 15 years

    • You are between 50 and 74 years old
    • Have smoked at least a pack of cigarettes a day for 20+ years

Qualified candidates schedule their free LDCT screening at our Burlington or Peabody location.

While you do not have to be a Lahey Hospital & Medical Center patient to receive this free screening, you must receive an order for the exam from your primary care physician (regardless of if you are an existing patient or not) before you may participate in this screening.
