Introduction

Taurine is a compound that is like an amino acid. It has been used to improve blood flow and athletic performance. Taurine has also been used to improve brain function and as an antioxidant to help slow damage to cells. It can be taken as a pill or powder.

Safety Notes

It is likely safe to take taurine in small doses for a short time. Not enough studies have been done to say whether it is safe to take for a long period. It is also not known whether it is safe to take by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
