Assessment of Primary Prevention Patients Receiving An ICD – Systematic Evaluation of ATP (APPRAISE ATP)
The purpose of this study is to better understand the value of Anti-Tachycardia Pacing (ATP) in primary prevention patients implanted with a Boston Scientific ICD. This study is to see if certain programming will reduce the number of shocks received from your ICD and improve survival rate. An Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) may include a feature which allows for the device to deliver fast pacing signals, called Antitachycardia pacing (ATP), which may help your heart return to a normal speed. The value of ATP in primary prevention patients who receive ICDs is uncertain.
