Your eyes show the signs of aging more than any other facial feature. You may opt for an eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty, if you feel your eyes have a tired or sad-eye appearance that makes you look older than you feel. The procedure removes drooping skin from the upper eyelids and minimizing bags under the eyes by removing excess fat and tissue.

A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) can improve the contour and appearance of your lower abdomen. Following pregnancies or significant weight loss, the abdominal area is often left with excess fat and loose, sagging skin. Abdominal workouts and diet cannot always help this condition. In an abdominoplasty, excess tissue is removed and the muscles of your abdominal wall are tightened. You are left with a smoother, more defined stomach.

Breast enlargement (also called breast enhancement or breast augmentation) can give you fuller, shapelier breasts. Breast augmentation can correct uneven breasts or restore natural breast volume that may have decreased following pregnancy.

Over the years, pregnancy, nursing, weight loss and the force of gravity can change the appearance of your breasts. As the skin loses elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag. A breast lift reshapes sagging breasts and lifts them to a more aesthetically pleasing position. If the size of your breasts is also a concern, a breast lift can be combined with breast enlargement or reduction.

Breast reduction removes excess breast tissue and skin if you have exceptionally large breasts and symptoms of back pain, shoulder pain, grooving of your shoulders from your bra, and skin breakdown. Breast reduction surgery can help relieve these symptoms and improve your quality of life.

A brow/forehead lift eliminates a heavy appearance or overhanging of your brow and forehead. It corrects brow position and allows the upper portion of your face to have a more open and rested appearance. A brow/forehead lift can be performed at the same time as eyelid surgery.

The goal of cheek augmentation is to improve the appearance and prominence of your cheeks by bringing them into balance with the rest of the face. The procedure, which involves the use of implants typically made of hard silicone, was originally used to repair birth defects or injuries.

Cheek augmentation is typically performed under local anesthesia and takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Depending on the location of the incision, scarring ranges from none to minimal. Bruising and swelling are normal in the weeks following surgery, with the final results typically visible after about seven months.

When the shape of your profile is off-balance due to a weak or receding chin, chin augmentation may be an option. This procedure is performed using one of two techniques:

  • For significant augmentation, the procedure involves moving a portion of your chin forward to reshape it and enhance its size.
  • For mild to moderate augmentation, an implant is inserted to allow reshaping of your chin.

Chin augmentation is typically performed under local anesthesia and takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Depending on the location of the incision, scarring ranges from none to minimal. Bruising and swelling can be expected for about two weeks, though results should be seen right away.

Ear reconstruction is performed to correct ears that stick out too far from your head.

A facelift, or rhytidectomy, smooths loose skin on your face and neck by tightening the underlying tissue. This procedure rejuvenates your face by restoring a more youthful neck appearance and jaw line. Facelifts are performed in the operating room under anesthesia.

If you’ve lost a significant amount of weight, you may have excess fat and skin on your neck that you can’t do anything about. Or, if weakened or loose neck muscles are in your genes and cause bands of skin to appear on your neck, you may wish to consider neck lift surgery.

Neck lift surgery involves a combination of procedures to improve the appearance of your neck:

  • Cervicoplasty to remove excess skin
  • Platysmaplasty to remove and/or alter neck muscles
  • Neck liposuction to remove excess fat
  • Botox injections to relax the neck muscles responsible for the appearance of bands of skin

Neck lift surgery typically averages about two to three hours. Bruising and swelling, as well as tightness and pulling in the neck, can be expected for several weeks following surgery.

Nose reshaping, or rhinoplasty, involves changing the underlying structures of your nose to improve its appearance. The procedure can increase or reduce the size of your nose, or change the shape of the tip and bridge. Rhinoplasty also may be used to help correct breathing problems.

An arm tuck, or brachioplasty, can help improve the appearance of your arms if aging or significant weight loss causes the skin to appear loose and lax. Removing excess skin can make your arm look more defined and toned.

Liposuction removes excess fat from specific areas of your face, neck or body. Liposuction often targets those stubborn areas of fat that are hard to change with diet and exercise. In removing excess fat, liposuction can improve the contour of desired areas and create a smoother, more proportioned appearance. It’s important to note, however, that liposuction should not be used as an alternative to weight loss.

A thigh/buttock lift can improve loose tissue in your thigh, along with a saggy appearance of your buttocks. Tightening and lifting your excess skin and tissue can dramatically improve the contour and appearance of your lower body. A consult with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons is recommended to determine if a thigh/buttock lift is an appropriate option for you.
