Our team offers support through patient education, classes and counseling sessions, so you can learn about treatment options and get your questions answered.

The American Diabetes Association certifies our diabetes education program which means we meet national standards for excellence in education.

Diabetes Self-Management Education Program

There’s a lot to manage when you have diabetes: blood sugar levels, diet, medicines and more. While every person is different, we all can benefit from learning more about managing our own health.

Our Diabetes Self-Management Education program provides the support you need while you learn about managing your diabetes. Our program combines individual sessions and group classes led by nurse practitioners and nurse educators.

Classes focus on:

  • Managing blood sugar levels
  • What to do when blood sugar levels are too low or too high
  • Nutrition
  • Exercise
  • Medicine management
  • Stress management
  • Diabetes complications
  • Insulin pump training
  • Counseling

Diabetes Class Schedules

Our diabetes education groups meet at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington from 10 a.m. to noon on Mondays and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays.
