The triage nurse who is part of your health care team may set up a same-day appointment with your doctor or, if he or she is not available, your team’s nurse practitioner, physician assistant or resident physician. The nurse may also discuss your condition with a doctor and then call you with further instructions.

For medical advice or care after office hours, contact the General Internal Medicine on-call physician at 781-744-7000. You may be referred to the Urgent Care Center (4 East), which sees patients on a first-come, first-served basis. Urgent Care is only open to patients ages 18 and over.

For urgent medical care after office hours, Lahey Medical Center, Peabody has an Emergency Department open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that is staffed by specialty trained emergency medicine personnel.

To refill a prescription during business hours, please call 978-538-4300. After business hours, please call 978-538-4309 to leave a message for a prescription refill. All requests will be completed within 48 hours.

If you need to schedule a routine periodic examination or a follow-up visit in Peabody, call 978-538-4300 and ask to speak to your primary care physician’s office. A medical secretary will arrange a time for you. To promote continuity of care, these appointments are made whenever possible with your PCP or another member of your health care team.

Appointments for physical exams and return visits are available 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.
