For Referring Physicians
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center has a long and cherished philosophy of collaboration and open communication among care providers that we leverage to achieve the best possible outcome for patients. We regard our close collaborative relationship with referring physicians as critical to our ability to provide world class cost-effective care. Our electronic health record (EHR) unifies patient medical information and management across Lahey Health sites and affiliated practices. For those referring physicians who do not yet have access to our EHR, you can be certain that we will actively collaborate with you via phone, fax and conventional mail. We welcome the opportunity to assist in the care of your patient.
New patients with thoracic malignancies are evaluated at our Multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Conferences and Clinics. These meet every Monday at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and alternate weekly at Beverly and Winchester Hospitals. (Winchester Hospital: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays; Beverly Hospital: 2nd and 4th Tuesdays) Referring physicians are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please contact our office at 781-744-3170 to arrange for a patient evaluation. Patients who require urgent cancer consultation can be seen directly in our office, as needed.
Patients with benign thoracic surgical disease can be seen in our offices at Burlington, Winchester or Beverly. For routine, urgent or same day consultation please call 781-744-3170.
The Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Transfer Center (781-744-5130) provides a single point of contact for referring physicians who need to arrange for emergency or urgent inter-hospital patient transfer. With one phone call, referring physicians can be in contact with the appropriate Lahey specialist to arrange for patient transfer for subspecialty care.
