Weight Loss Surgery Program
Obesity rates in America continue to climb. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 34% of Americans aged 20 and older were obese, and 34% of Americans aged 20 and older were overweight in 2007-2008. Weight disorders not only impact lifestyle but can also lead to lower self-esteem, depression, discomfort in social situations, and diminished quality of life. Weight disorders also increase a person’s risk for developing serious obesity-related health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, and polycystic ovary syndrome.
Losing weight can be one of the most difficult challenges a person can face, and is different for everyone. At Lahey, we understand that. That’s why our program offers surgical weight loss options for our patients.
