Lahey Hospital & Medical Center’s Dr. Susan Moffatt-Bruce Named to Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association Board of Trustees
Burlington, Mass. – Susan Moffatt-Bruce, MD, PhD, President of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, was voted onto the Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association (MHA)'s Board of Trustees on January 25. MHA serves as the united voice for the commonwealth’s hospitals and health systems.
“Dr. Moffatt-Bruce has a unique national – and international – perspective on what excellent patient care looks like, and her voice will be invaluable to the work of our board,” said Steve Walsh, President and CEO of MHA. “This will be yet another transformative year for Massachusetts healthcare. She will help us keep patients and caregivers at the heart of everything we do.”
As a member of the MHA Board, Moffatt-Bruce will help MHA support the healthcare system’s efforts to deliver high quality, equitable and affordable care for everyone who calls Massachusetts home.
MHA’s Board of Trustees steers the direction of the association’s advocacy efforts on Beacon Hill and Capitol Hill, while carrying forth the state’s longstanding legacy in healthcare innovation. In the coming year, the MHA Board will remain especially focused on supporting and growing the healthcare workforce, easing the capacity pressures being felt in every healthcare facility, and setting a national standard in the march toward health equity.
An academic leader, cardiothoracic surgeon and healthcare administrator, Moffatt-Bruce is dedicated to the principles of value-driven care in her role at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health. LHMC, a 100-year-old tertiary academic medical center, is known for its clinic model of care, innovative technology, pioneering medical treatments and leading-edge research.
