Elizabeth Gagliardi, MD, Named Chair of Department of Gynecology at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center
Burlington, MA – Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, has named Elizabeth A. Gagliardi, MD, as the new Chair of its Department of Gynecology.
Gagliardi has more than 15 years of experience in the medical field, most recently serving as Director of Gynecologic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Gagliardi’s career has focused on increasing access to minimally invasive surgery to all patients, and she has enhanced this mission by focusing on surgical education of medical students, residents and fellows.

Gagliardi is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Harvard Medical School and previously served as a clinical instructor there with appointments at both Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital while in medical school.

Prior to her appointment at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Gagliardi was a physician with Atrius Health and was a member of its Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Service for 12 years. During her time at Atrius Health, she served as the Director of Advanced Pelvic Surgery coordinating gynecologic surgery services throughout Greater Boston.
Gagliardi received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, after which she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
