U.S. News & World Report Names Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Among Best Hospitals for 2025-2026 in Massachusetts

Lahey Receives National Recognition and High Performing Ratings

Burlington, MA – Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC) has been named by U.S. News & World Report a 2025-2026 Best Hospital. Lahey was nationally ranked in one adult specialty and also received 22 high performing ratings in the group’s annual best hospital report.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only 13% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals designation.

Lahey was named as the #4 best hospital in the Boston region and #4 best hospital in Massachusetts.

Lahey was nationally ranked in urology and received 22 high performing ratings including heart & vascular, gastroenterology & GI surgery, geriatrics, and pulmonology & lung surgery.

To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from over 800 million records of patient care.
