Difficult Venous Access Clinical Trial 20193166

[LCID Study Number: 20193166]

The Efficacy of Near-infrared Vein Imaging for the Success of Placing Peripheral Venous Catheters in Adults with Difficult Venous Access

The purpose of this study is to compare the success rate of IV placement via conventional methods and those that utilize the VeinViewer Flex, an FDA-approved near-infrared vein imaging device routinely used at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center. The purpose is to find out which method is the most successful in situations of more challenging IV placement. This information could benefit future patients by reducing the number of needle sticks needed during IV placement.
