Centers that hold NAPBC accreditation are among the leading organizations in their field and have demonstrated a commitment to quality care. NAPBC represents a consortium of national, professional organizations dedicated to improving the quality of care and monitoring of outcomes for patients with breast cancer and other breast diseases. Lahey’s breast center is one of only five in Massachusetts to earn this distinction and was rated fully compliant on all standards and components reviewed by NAPBC.

American College of Radiology accreditation logoACR – Lahey’s breast imaging services have been recognized by the American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. The Center has ACR accreditation in mammography, breast ultrasound, ultrasound-guided biopsy, and stereotactic core biopsy. The imaging services possess a valid license and certification inspection by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and meets the standards set by the Food and Drug Administration and the Mammography Quality Standards Act.

commission on cancer logoACS – The Sophia Gordon Cancer Center, the umbrella body for cancer services at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, was recently granted a full three-year accreditation with commendation from The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons after an intensive review. Accreditation is given only to facilities that have voluntarily committed to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of performance.
