Minimally Invasive Specialists
Our thoracic surgeons are experts in advanced minimally invasive approaches to treat thoracic conditions, including video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) and robotic thoracic surgery, as well as traditional open procedures.
Minimally invasive procedures use small incisions and tiny cameras and instruments to treat many conditions that, in the past, could only be addressed with surgery performed using large incisions. Some of the benefits of minimally invasive techniques include faster recovery times and less pain.
Among the state-of-the-art procedures we offer are robotic lobectomy for lung cancer and peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), an endoscopic procedure to treat achalasia and other swallowing disorders.
The Lahey culture emphasizes close collaboration between teams of experienced physicians to provide optimal care for each and every patient. We embrace a patient-centered, multidisciplinary approach to disease management. Specialists from thoracic surgery, radiation oncology, medical oncology, interventional pulmonary medicine, radiology and pathology collaborate to provide you with the best care possible.
When you seek care at Lahey, you can be assured that everyone involved in your treatment has your best interests in mind. Your care is tailored specifically for you. And with so many top minds working toward your recovery, every detail is considered.
